Not To Be - Simple Present Form
Introduction
This is a lesson about using the negative of the simple present of the
verb, to be. The main purpose of this lesson is to provide many interactive
quizzes so that students may practice this important verb.
Using to be
The verb "to be" is the most important verb in the English language.
When one makes a negative statement with "to be", the word not goes immediately
after the verb.
The following examples show how to change a sentence from positive to
negative.
I am hungry.
I am not hungry
The dog is friendly.
The dog is not friendly.
The man is rich.
The man is not rich.
The lady is from Mexico.
The lady is not from Mexico.
Paul and Ken are friends.
Paul and Ken are not friends.
